ABOUT BIANKA

I didn’t study nutrition because I loved food.

I studied it because food was my greatest struggle.

I reached the point where my dad had to take me to the doctor because I went way too far. She measured my pulse and told me I could have collapsed at any moment. I got into the hospital, diagnosed with anorexia nervosa, and I had no idea how I had got there. Because every step along the way had felt like discipline, not destruction.

That moment marks the beginning of my story with UNRESTRICT.

MY STORY

From the plain salads to the MSc in Nutrition & Health - the long way round

From a young age I wanted to be a fashion model. So I started dieting. Dieting then turned into restricting. Exercising more and more. Then restricting further. It all turned into a spiral. And every step felt like progress, like I was finally in control of something.

I ate plain salads for dinner. I skipped many social events with my friends and family because I was scared of eating something unplanned. I exercised every single day to burn off what I'd eaten. I saw myself as fat even when I was skin and bone. My body image was completely detached from reality, and I didn't realize it.

Recovery wasn't linear. The way out, for me personally, was becoming vegan because it gave me a framework where everything felt safe to eat, and slowly I started eating more. My body image improved and I started accepting my body.

Then I got discovered by a photographer and signed with a modelling agency. But they weren't okay with my body. So I started dieting and training again. The relationship with food was healthier than before, but after two or three years, my period was still missing. I was bored of always eating the same foods. I was counting and tracking everything. I didn't feel free.

Eventually I ended my contract and left modelling. And I started asking the question I'd never properly asked before: what actually makes a person healthy? Not thin. Not disciplined. Actually healthy - in their body, in their mind, in their relationship with food.

That question led to a BSc in Nutrition Sciences. Then an MSc in Nutrition & Health. Then a Precision Nutrition coaching certification. Years of studying behaviour change, habit formation, the psychology of eating, specifically because I wanted to understand what had happened to me, and how to help other women find a different way and not make the same mistake.

I built UNRESTRICT because I want to help women live a fuller and healthier life. That's genuinely it.

If any of this sounds familiar - let’s talk.
